Aussie’s Brian Lowe prioritises customer service to ensure the best outcome for his customers.

From hospitality to the MPA Young Guns 2020 list

North Brisbane local and mortgage broker Brian Lowe of leading mortgage broker Aussie, was named one of Australia’s leading young brokers after making the annual MPA Young Guns list for 2020.

The national awards highlight successful young talent in the broking industry with a focus on providing recognition to brokers who demonstrate a commitment to service, upholding high standards and writing new business.

Lowe started working as a broker with Aussie Taigam in March of 2018, and during that time has established himself as one of the brightest up-and-coming brokers in south-east Queensland.

Lowe’s figures are impressive to say the least, having been responsible for new loans to the tune of $22.5 million from October 2018 to September 2019.

In addition, Lowe wrote an average of $1.8 million in new loans per month, compared with the industry average of $860,000 per month in the same period.

Lowe said he thought the key to his success was his total focus on providing service to his customers.

“I want to ensure all my customers feel supported, valued and cared for during the entire process, regardless of the type or size of the transaction,” he said.

“I feel as though that’s a point of difference of mine, as I learnt that customer service piece from my time managing restaurants and have translated that into broking.”

The period Lowe spent working in hospitality helped him navigate his way through the recent turbulent times in broking, and he noted that success can be achieved if you’re willing to stay the course.

“I think I managed to get through that unpredictable period in the industry as I believed in the service we were offering,” he said.

“Whilst it was challenging, you have to realise that Australians are always going to want houses, so if we can offer a service that they want and need, and go above and beyond what other providers can offer; there’s always going to be that opportunity to generate business.”

With a strong mindset such as that, it’s easy to see why Lowe has experienced the success he has, and he noted his pleasure at that success being recognised in the form of the MPA Young Guns list.

“I am flabbergasted and overwhelmed to have been selected,” he said.

“I never thought that would be something I could achieve in my life; however, with the help of Aussie and the team at Chermside and Taigum, I have been able to do it.”

It’s not the first time Lowe has been awarded for his attention to detail, service and work ethic, as he has previously been recognised by his peers - winning the coveted Emerging Broker Award three times in his 18 months as a mortgage broker.

The respect he has garnered from his peers is evidenced by Aussie retail business consultant for Queensland Zoe Uyen as she spoke about Brian’s efficiency.

“His customer service is fantastic which is evidenced by his customer survey results and referrals,” she said.

“It is also worth mentioning the high quality and attention to detail of every one of his loan applications which has impressed many of our lender partners.”
