Experienced CIO brings her expertise to ING

An Australian bank is set for a considerable boost after Linda Da Silva was appointed chief information officer (CIO) of ING Australia and member of ING Australia Executive Committee.

Linda moves from Westpac where she worked for the better part of 11 years,  having previously held the roles of CIO of BT Financial Group.

With more than 20 years’ experience in IT consulting and leadership roles in Australia, Asia, Middle East and the UK, Da Silva has managed significant technology functions and has extensive experience in delivering large-scale transformation programs across different industries.

ING Australia CEO, Uday Sareen, says the appointment comes at a good time for ING as the business grows strongly and scales digital capability across products and services.

“I welcome Linda to the team,” Sareen said.

“She has the experience and skills to help accelerate our digital transformation and further differentiate our offering to customers.”

Linda takes over the CIO role from Ani Paul, who is now ING’s global chief data officer, located in Amsterdam.
