ALI Group Client Protection Broker of the Year Awards

Awards shine a light on brokers protecting their clients from financial hardship

ALI Group Client Protection Broker of the Year Awards

ALI Group, a leading provider of financial protection to Australian home and property buyers, has announced the winners of their 8th annual Client Protection Broker of the Year and Emerging Client Protection Broker of the Year awards from 2020.

A winning broker and an emerging broker are selected from each State and presented the award out of more than 3,000 mortgage brokers who are authorised to offer ALI’s My Protection Plan to their clients. The victors are selected based on showing a solid commitment to protecting their clients, a willingness to go above and beyond by supporting ALI initiatives and advocating amongst their peers for why it’s so important to discuss financial protection with clients.

The Client Protection Broker of the Year awards, whilst showcasing high performing ALI authorised brokers, also set out to raise awareness of mortgage brokers increasingly incorporating protection of clients against financial hardship into their core service.

“We are very proud to be working with such talented brokers who believe in protecting their clients. Many of the winners of these ALI awards over the past 8 years are or have been MPA Top 100 Brokers and boast many other industry awards and accolades. This year’s winners are equally as impressive”, says ALI Group CEO, Huy Truong.

“These brokers are not only doing a wonderful job for their clients but are also shining examples to their peers on how to be successful with financial protection”, explains Truong.

Market research in Australia and the US shows that consumers tend to acquire life risk insurance products at important times in their lives. Purchasing a home, getting married or starting a family are three of the top life moments where insurance is acquired. A mortgage will often be triggered by at least one, if not all three, key moments.

“With brokers arranging 60% of all home loans, they are perfectly placed to have this discussion and offer a convenient affordable insurance solution”, says Truong.

“Our Award winners often tell me it’s not a hard sell. It’s just asking a question and explaining how the insurance works. Our clients confirm this as 72% of our policyholders had not considered life risks and 82% of our policyholders did not realise that insurance products like My Protection Plan existed until their broker raised the topic”, explains Truong.
