How often do you see brokers in a week?
About 15 to 20 times or more.

What do brokers want most from you?
Answer phone calls and reply to scenarios promptly.

What is your favourite part of the job?
Educating brokers to diversify and expand their business by helping their specialist clients and being rewarded with a customer for life.

What distinguishes the best brokers you deal with?
The best broker I deal with has an open mind and finds solutions for customers that will benefit the customer to overcome a life incident and has a strategy to take them back as a major bank customer. A broker that differentiates themselves from the majority of other brokers and takes a common sense approach to get the deal placed.

Describe your ideal weekend.
After returning from maternity leave in the last month and with the new addition to the family, the majority of my weekend goes on cleaning, washing and feeding and bathing the baby, not to mention cooking, sleeping and trying to engage with my teenagers :)

What’s the strangest lending scenario you’ve ever encountered?
A client who was bankrupt, married with three kids and whose house was about to be sold when we received the scenario from the broker about using wife’s payg income (on probation) to service the debt. Bluestone was able to help them by consolidating all debts and discharging the bankruptcy and giving the young family another chance to rebuild. Most of all we saved the family’s home and the three kids had a roof over their head. The husband's business was not able to operate until bankruptcy was discharged. Now the family has 2x good income and is on their way to getting back to mainstream lending.

How do you like your steak done?
Considering I’m a vegetarian and have been all my life, I’ll have to say I’m not sure!

Every Wednesday we’ll feature a different BDM from across Australia. If you’d like to be included, please email the editor.
