What's your top tip for getting a faster turnaround time for a bank?
Supply the bank with everything they require - everything! - and write great notes that outline everything that an assessor would need in order to approve the loan.

What's your top tip for keeping clients updated?
Finance can be very stressful. As brokers, we need to understand that while we do this as a profession, for clients it can be very, very stressful. I like to update a client even when there is nothing to update! Just to check in with them and let them know that everything is tracking the way it should be. I also like to ensure that all communication is through email so that it can all be in writing. 

What's your top tip for strong referral relationships?  
Always be educating your referral partners! They can't have a relationship with you if they don't know what you do. When they really understand what you do and how you can assist them, their clients and their business - then your own business will grow.

What's your tip for when you’re feeling overwhelmed?
Great question! There is no doubt that this business is highly stressful, and to be honest I probably don't do enough of the right thing to relax. I do exercise four times a week which helps me deal with the stress of this industry, but in 2018 I will take some more hours to myself away from the office to keep fresh.

What's your top tip for maximising online presence?
We do SEO, facebook updates, and we recently started Instagram. We are a recognised brokerage in the industry, so this can assist with online presence also.

What's your top tip for networking events?
Networking is about developing relationships and connecting with people to grow your circle of influence. It’s not about product pushing! You have to add value, add value, add value, and do it with a smile on your face.

What's your tip for lenders and industry regulators?
Lenders and regulators are prescribing a lot of changes for brokers. I don't actually disagree with the changes, but what these bodies need to do is give us the TOOLS (technology) to implement them into our business to ensure that we can do everything they require more easily, whilst still delivering the best service.  

What's your top time saving tip and how much time does it save you?
Make your super urgent calls before 9am. It gets them out of the way so you can be more efficient during the day.
