BDM in the spotlight asks a different BDM the same seven questions – giving you a weekly insight into the lives of some of the top BDMs in the country.

How often do you see brokers in a week?
Overall I see brokers face-to-face about two days per week.

What do brokers want most from you?
To provide solutions for them and their clients. To be accessible. Answer calls and respond to emails. To be able to sit down and structure a deal.

What is your favourite part of the job?
Providing a service for both client and broker in order for them to complete their transaction.

What distinguishes the best brokers you deal with?
Those who look at a client’s needs beyond the ‘cheapest rate’.

Describe your ideal weekend:
Just relaxing with family and friends. Having some good food and a nice whiskey.

What’s the strangest lending scenario you’ve ever encountered?
There’s been a lot. Probably whether we would accept a disused missile silo as security, to convert to a house.

How do you like your steak done?
Medium rare, with mushroom sauce.
