How often do you see brokers in a week?
I’m usually out of the office 2 days a week seeing brokers and the rest of the time I’m seeing credit staff.

What do brokers want most from you?
A quick response, a willingness to fight for their application when things go wrong and a big bar tab at industry events.

What is your favourite part of the job?
Getting deals over the line others have said no to and being invited to use other lender’s bar tabs at industry events!

What distinguishes the best brokers you deal with?
The brokers who are prepared to look outside the major banks for solutions, aren’t afraid to take on borrowers who don’t fit the standard two payslips lending criteria and are prepared to fight for their borrower’s when things go wrong.

Describe your ideal weekend
A long one.

What’s the strangest lending scenario you’ve ever encountered?
I get a few strange ones from Northern NSW, spoke to a broker once about a scenario where he went to a house to sign up the borrowers and the whole family was naked. Another one from that area where a horse lived in the house.

How do you like your steak done?
If I say I’m vegetarian I’ll lose business, if I say I’m vegan people will think I’m strange…. so I’ll go with medium!
